Armed Greek road bandits attacked a Macedonian truck driver

On 23 July 2008, at the Macedonian/Greek border crossing "Star Dojran" the Macedonian citizes P.B. (59) from Skopje reported a new case of harassment from Greek citizens.

While driving his truck with license plates from Skopje, using the old road to Solun (close to the industrial zone "Neohoruda"), he was intercepted by another truck (a Furgon), which forced the Macedonian driver to stop his vehicle.

Right after P.B. went out of the truck, three unknown bandits approached him, verbally abused him and took him to the back side of his truck, where they held knives upon his throat and damaged the truck with their knives. They also removed the international transport code "MK", which was on the truck's back side. Soon after this incident, they left.

The Macedonian Ministry of Interior reports that there are 7 reported cases of Macedonian drivers being attacked by a Greek mob this year. They will ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to file another protest to it's Greek counterparts. The last protest was answered by the Greek officials as "not important enough for them to consider", which is another Greek example of building good neighborly relations.
